New York, USA — From August 23-25, 2024, Anime NYC filled the Jacob Javits Convention Center with over 100,000 attendees, showcasing anime’s increasing influence in the U.S. The convention featured a mix of premieres, engaging panels, and live performances that brought together fans, creators, and industry insiders. By focusing on inclusivity, the event created a space that resonated deeply with fans from all backgrounds, underscoring the genre’s broad cultural appeal.

This year’s convention debuted exclusive premieres like The Bride of Halloween from the Case Closed series. Additionally, Terminator Zero, an animated feature set in 1990s Japan, captivated audiences with its unique storyline. Furthermore, the presence of voice actors and creators allowed event goers to gain unique insights into the story’s development, creating an interactive experience that deepened fan engagement. On top of that, the panels covered a range of relevant themes, from animation techniques to anime’s social impact, making them informative for all attendees.

Anime NYC’s Cosplay & Community Scene

The event’s vibrant cosplay scene added an additional layer of excitement. Fans dressed as characters from popular series such as Chainsaw Man, Demon Slayer, and Sailor Moon, creating a lively atmosphere. Additionally, the Cosplay Masquerade offered participants a chance to showcase their work on stage. For example, Japanese hip-hop duo Creepy Nuts performed their hit “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” from Mashle: Magic and Muscles.
