It is fashion as a global conversation, and New York gets to host it.

A Global Runway Returns to Sony Hall
Season 11 lands at a proud moment for Runway 7. The platform just landed on the 2025 Inc. 5000 list. That list ranks America’s fastest-growing private companies. This season shows exactly why, with a full designer lineup spanning every corner of the industry. Latin American designers carry a strong presence this year, and that international spirit runs through the entire lineup. In total, 20 countries and territories are represented on the schedule.
Diane Vara leads public relations and marketing for the company. She framed the season as something bigger than a runway calendar.
Season 11 reflects how far the platform has evolved and the kind of global creative community we continue to build.
That sense of community shows up everywhere in the schedule. Established houses share the runway with independent labels. First-time designers get equal footing. Every day carries its own personality. Still, the whole week feels like one story.
Fashion With a Cause Sets the Tone
Runway 7 opens Tuesday night with Elysian’s fourth annual CatWalk FurBaby. The benefit centers on animal welfare and adoption. This year’s theme is “Women Inspiring Women.” The honors run just as deep as the clothes. Fashion icon Fern Mallis receives the 2026 Lifetime Achievement award. Charlii Sebunya hosts an evening full of designers and rescue groups working side by side.
Purpose keeps showing up all week. On Wednesday, HIV Unwrapped stages a private presentation. It draws on HIV research and lived experience. The goal is simple: use fashion to challenge stigma head on.
Saturday evening brings something even bigger. Project Lab Coat presents “Le Cœur en Scène,” an immersive couture experience built around cabaret elegance. The theme is cancer awareness. Individual lab coats represent different forms of the disease. A survivor connected to the Head and Neck Cancer Alliance will bring that lived experience directly to the runway. The initiative has already raised more than $200,000 for health causes. Partners include Mount Sinai, the Global Lyme Alliance, Project Lyme and the Lymelight Foundation.
Craft Meets Global Identity
Heritage runs through nearly every day of this season. Randhawa Brands brings South Asian design traditions into a modern silhouette. Venezuelan designer Alejandro de los Reyes lights up Thursday evening. His embellished gowns are built for pageant stages, the kind of statement pieces that command a room. Veritée Hill treats fabric like architecture. Her sculptural gown Madame Paon Doré once won a section of the World of WearableArt competition.
These are not novelty acts. They explain why Runway 7 keeps expanding its global footprint every season. Designers who rarely get a New York stage finally get the platform they have earned.
Where Fashion Meets Pop Culture
Friday night belongs to spectacle. RR22 pairs Edition22 with Grammy-nominated artist Rick Ross. The collaboration brings street luxury into a bold new shape. Accessories and travel design round out the collection. It is the kind of crossover that pulls music fans into a fashion crowd.
Sunday adds its own dose of joy. Anthony Rubio sends dogs down the runway in coordinated couture looks. Human models walk right alongside them. A day earlier, on Saturday, Tutel, Delphi Rive, Ren Haixi and Creators Inc. blended fashion with digital entertainment. Fashion week has always chased the future. This year, it invites that future to walk the runway itself.
Malan Breton Closes the Season in Couture
Every great season needs a great final note. Runway 7 saves its biggest name for last. Malan Breton closes the six-day run with an exclusive finale. The house builds its reputation on Savile Row-informed tailoring and theatrical storytelling. Its client list includes Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Janelle Monáe. Billy Porter and Kylie Minogue have worn the label too. So has the artist Raye. Breton will also receive the Excellence in Design Award at the new Runway 7 Fashion Awards. It caps three decades of craft with one more honor.
A New Era Begins With the Runway 7 Fashion Awards
The celebration does not end when the last model exits. On Monday, September 14, Runway 7 hosts its first-ever Fashion Awards at Sony Hall. The ceremony honors excellence in design and craftsmanship. It also celebrates hair and makeup artistry, along with standout modeling talent. Several nominees are up for recognition across the night’s categories. Karen Chan is among them, nominated for Best International Fashion Designer. Malan Breton returns to close out the celebration once more.
Six days of runway shows lead into one night built to honor the people behind them. That is the shape of Runway 7’s boldest season yet. It confirms why New York still matters as fashion’s global meeting point.
